Big congratulations going out to our girl Alicia Keys on being a mommy for the first time! 

The Grammy Award-winning R&B singer has been dating producer Swizz Beatz, who has written hits for Beyonce, Jay-Z and others. They’re engaged to be married at a private ceremony later this year.

Yesterday, I was driving home from work and I stopped at a traffic light, because that’s what you do when they are red.  Next to me, in a small Ford Fiesta (yes the same car that the American Idol’s won), was a man with a a beard.  I mention the beard because it was missing the the mustache.  Yes, the driver of the Ford Fiesta was also sporting a Lincoln beard.

As I waited for the light to change, I noticed that “Lincoln Beard” was looking at me.  I casually spun my head to the right and made eye contact.  My eyes locked on him.  I couldn’t look away.  One of his eyes appeared to be twisted to the side.  I am not judging him.  I was trying to figure out how this happened.

I gave him a guy “nod”.  It’s something we do when we are trying to acknowledge each others presence.  He gave me a deeper stare.  At this point, the light changed to green.  As I looked back toward the road, I saw “Lincoln Beard” appear to give me the finger.

Once again, my guilt has gotten to me.  Did I make him uncomfortable? I admit, his twisted eye caught me off guard.  I was mostly curious as to how one could get a twisted eye.  I regret even looking, but he started looking at me first.

I have two messages for “Lincoln Beard”.

1) I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable, but you shouldn’t have given me the finger.

2) Buy a pair of sunglasses.

We recieved an email from a co-worker stating their concern about Tall Skiny Matt. Apparently TSM has been talking to himself while in the company bathroom and a few people over heard it.

When I was in college, I was friends with a girl who was really into poetry.  One day, for fun, I wrote a poem in about 2 minutes.  People liked my poem.  She got upset because it wasn’t deep enough and she thought I was making fun of her and poetry.  That’s the best part about poetry.  It can be about pretty much anything you want it to be about and it can sound however you want it to sound.  Tonight, I decided to write a new poem. I’m glad that you are here,

GO AWAY!  GET OUT OF MY HEAD!  STOP TORTURING MY BRAIN!  YOU MAKE ME WANT TO BANG MY HEAD AGAINST THE FLOOR TO MAKE THE PAIN GO AWAY, BUT I REALIZE HOW STUPID THAT WOULD BE BECAUSE BANGING MY HEAD AGAINST THE FLOOR WOULD ONLY MAKE MY HEADACHE WORSE!!!!

American Idol” runner-up Crystal Bowersox and boyfriend Tony Kusian have split.

After losing the “Idol” crown to Lee DeWyze on Wednesday night, the singer revealed to a reporter that on Thursday morning that she’d also lost her relationship.

“Big Tony… he went home. He wasn’t cool with the lifestyle,” Crystal said. “I didn’t break up with him… it was a mutual thing.”

The folksy rocker mom has a son, Tony, from a previous relationship. According to Radar Online, the father of her child is also named Tony and hails from Bosnia. The singer said that her newfound fame has taken its toll on her relationship with Big Tony.

“It’s cool though, we’re both logical, grown adults,” Crystal continued. “He’s a small town guy and that’s fine, but I’m a small town girl, but I want this. I want this more than anything, this career, this lifestyle. I didn’t think he was up for it. He didn’t think he was up for it. It’s just been crazy.”

The 24-year-old singer said the timing of the split was particularly hard, but that she tried to use the pain to inspire her performance.

“I was a little sad that he did it on performance day, but then again, it set that fire to my belly, you saw it,” she explained.

Despite the split, Crystal said she wished Tony well and thanked him for his support during her “Idol” run.

“He’s been amazing, he’s stuck it out through this whole thing. I was really hoping that he was going to come to the finale,” she said. ” We’re going to be friends for a long time.”
