It’s no secret that Lady Gaga has a flair for fashion, but now it’s a little more official. The Mother Monster was named a fashion icon at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards last night. Gaga received the Fashion Icon Award for 2011 at the the 10th annual event in New York City, according to E! Online.
“Fashion made me feel like a star before I was,” she said as she accepted her award. (love her…always inspirational)
Other big winners of the fashion-forward evening include Proenza Schouler for Womenswear Designer of the Year and Michael Bastian for Menswear Designer of the Year. Marc Jacobs was also honored at the event, receiving the Geoffery Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
So, i have to be honest…when it comes to clothes, im a snob. I dont buy cheap clothes, because then i wind up having to buy more cheap clothes 3 months later because you wash it a few times and its already starting to rip. Controversial pop queen Lady Gaga is on the cover of this month’s Vogue Japan wearing nothing but a bikini. This would normally be acceptable but, being Lady Gaga, the bikini she’s wearing is made out of raw meat. Yum. Also, rumors have surfaced that the singer starves herself in order to look good onstage. (Who knew she was trying to look good wearing those horrendous get-ups?)
Lady Gaga has outdone herself once again. The most followed person on Twitter has donned a raw meat bikini for Vogue Japan, complete with a tiny meat beret and blood-red nails and lips. PETA members must be THRILLED. The bizarre photoshoot was shot by famed photographer Terry Richardson and has caused a lot of controversy, as you can imagine.
Rihanna not only graces the cover of the July issue of Elle, she has a few things to say about the glamorous—and often unattainable—ideals of beau monde.
“I respect designers who aren’t afraid to go outside the box,” she tells the magazine. “I went to a Jean Paul Gaultier show, and I saw girls who are thicker than me, beautiful and voluptuous and different ethnicities. That made me so excited. I thought, Okay, I can work that, for sure.”
Of course, the Barbadian beauty is leaving her mark on the couture world, as well. “It’s clear there are definitely fewer black women in the high-fashion industry. One of the things I respected most about Gucci was that they did a print campaign with me. I’m a black girl on a fashion spread for Gucci—that was a big deal.”

Wow…Jessica Simpson is looking pretty hot these days. She lived through the “mom jeans” fiasco, a couple of nasty breakups and even a coyote snatching her cute little dog. Oh, and dont forget “Are buffalo wings made from buffalo”?
She is really brave for posing in the May issue of Marie Claire magazine…without make-up! There are a lot of women i know that would NEVER think of leaving the house without something on. Good for Jess though, rockin it as usual. I had the chance to meet her back when she was on tour with Rascal Flatts. Sweetheart.
